Betty Hadfield, the principal artist at The Gallery at East Beach, works in oils as an Interpretive Artist. As a student at Longwood University she became thrilled at the prospect of majoring in Art, a love she had from early childhood. She received her degree in Art Education, raised a family while continuing to build her skill as well as her reputation as a serious artist. She works with a limited palette and enjoys using bold and unexpected color to capture the mood and integrity of her subject. Her art has been on display at various Hampton Roads indoor art shows, and several galleries. Her work is now primarily featured at The Gallery at East Beach in the beach front community of Ocean View in Norfolk. Her work has sold nationally to collectors in Texas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Florida and Massachusetts, as well as in Virginia and North Carolina.
